Ok here's a good omens/Loki paralel from me, not the way you might expect though.
So Crowley calls heaven and hell 'toxic' and wants to leave the opressive system alltogether, while Aziraphale believes he can change it from within.
And (ok almost) everyone in fandom gets both side's reasoning and is very reflected and empathetic about it.
Now Sylvie calls the tva, which is an opressive, fascist institution, that flat out murders people, 'rotten' and wants to see it burned to the ground, while Loki believes he can use it as a valuable asset to beat Kang.
And still this scenario gets a completely different reaction.
Weird how that works.
#loki#loki spoilers#loki disney+#sylvie#good omens#crowley#aziraphale#come to think of it#I actually can make more paralels#like Sylvie wanting to kill HWR and than 'go off together' with Loki#get out on some branch and live their lives#wasn't outright voiced but heavily implied#but Loki decides to side with the oppressive system#so she gives him one last desperate kiss#and in the end he sits alone in her truck with a milkshake (instead of a bentley with a ficus)#oh in case that wasn't clear#loki is totally justified in his actions#both are#that's the point

In Defense of Bill Williamson: A Curious Case Of Hear Me OUT-
Warning: this post contains mentions of rape, homophobia, and period typical attitudes.
The first time I played RDR2, I was very curious and went into Sonny's cabin. If you know, you know.
I was horrified over learning what happened to Arthur and the shock of it all was impalpable. The fact that Rockstar put in such an encounter was diabolical, but either way, it happened, and I was pissed and heartbroken for Arthur. Out of all the encounters that happened in this game, all the awful encounters, this is the only one that did not get a journal entry- mostly likely due to the trauma of getting raped and the shame of it as well- let us not forget that Arthur is a man, a very tough and burly man, living in 1899 America. The likelihood that there would be any support for him is nigh on none.
I fed Sonny to the alligators (obviously) later and more or less forgot about it because I avenged my Arthur.
Then Bill came along.
"I met a guy at the swamp who seemed to know a lot about you. I mean A LOT about you…"
I was pissed and it was the first time in the game that I heard pure, unadulterated hatred in Arthur's voice as he more or less growled at Bill to go away. From then on, I always antagonized Bill for seemingly mocking Arthur like that for getting raped.
But then I played again and again and played Red Dead 1 too and learned that Bill is gay. Even though it isn't said outright, it is implied so heavily that it would be laughable to suggest that he liked women.
So after a while, my reaction to Bill's words changed. I pity him now.
Now I know what you are thinking- Heytham, how the hell can you pity a man who mocked a fucking rape victim?
Because I don't think Bill thought Arthur was raped.
Here is how I came to this conclusion (feel free to disagree with me, but here is how I came to this conclusion):
Being a homosexual in the 1800s was a very isolating and daunting experience, with the threat of jail time and even death. Society was super judgemental and cruel to people who did not fit into what was expected of them, so being a homosexual would feel like hell on Earth because there wasn't a real way to express this attraction beyond longing and secrecy, which would make finding other gay people hard to do.
Beyond just isolation, homosexual actions can ruin careers, which we can assume is one of the reasons that Bill got dishonorably discharged ("deviancy") alongside attempted murder. Crazy to think that "deviancy" is on the same level of attempted murder and was probably shamed more, but that is neither here nor there.
Even the gang wasn't really accepting of Bill's sexuality, which speaks a lot about the gang's supposedly "progressive politics", as they aren't really politically progressive and more so idealistic in the romantic standards of 1800s America. In terms of Bill's sexuality, it felt more like a outta sight, outta mind sort of deal. Bill is the butt of jokes and his sexuality is too ("Is he gonna kiss that guy or punch him", "Bill and Phil", "He likes to do a lot of things with men on their knees (RDR1- John says it to purposely shame Bill more to the people he works with)")).
When his sexuality seems to be a bit more upfront, there is agression and disgust. The biggest example of this is Arthur's reaction to Bill wanting hair pomade. He sounds disgusted and mean and the sneer in his "Yeah, I'll get you your hair pomade…" is very telling that Arthur thinks that Bill is asking him for pomade for gay sex because of the way he reacts to it- he already has a disposition to thinking this is why Bill wants the pomade and it disgusts him, even though he does it anyways.
To give Arthur the benefit of the doubt, I'd be pretty weirded out if someone asked me for lube, but Arthur didn't know if that is what Bill actually wants. He could very well just need it for a job that requires him to look nice, which happens in the ball mission. The point is that he had a disposition and that disposition made him react in not only a bewildered way but a disgusted way. Im serious, just listen to that interaction- I don't think I am reaching.
In any case, it is quite obvious that Bill feels isolated and that isolation makes him awkward and aggressive around men that he does like (Kieran) and overall just angry at the world because of it, amongst other things. He has no one to talk to, no one to relate to, and he is shunned and despaired over something he cannot control.
So then Bill meets Sonny and whatever the hell they did together, Sonny talks about Arthur, and let us be real, what is the likelihood that he would flat out tell Bill that he raped Arthur? Low, I'd think. Most likely, he would just say that the two of them had sex.
Now think about this- Bill has mostly likely lived his entire life hiding his sexuality and only expressing it in secret because if he does otherwise, he will be punished in some form or another. But now he learns that another man in camp, the fucking enforcer of all people, has apparently went to this man for sex.
Do you realize what this means for a gay person? Especially a gay person who lives in a society that actively discourages and punishes same-sex relations? It doesn't necessarily mean that that person would try to drum up a relationship, but there is comfort in the fact that now you know another person who is experiencing the same thing you are- the solidarity in that is priceless. I would know, I come from a culture that still kills gay people.
When Bill comes up to Athur, he genuinely sound giddy, like he found a big secret. There wasn't really any malice in his voice, other than a "haha, guess what I just found out" sort of tone.
When Arthur tells him to get out of there, he didn't seem offended. He didn't seem annoyed or aggressive, which is unusual for Bill. He just puts his hands up in surrender and goes off, almost as if he was saying "hey, I get it man," in the sense that a man during this time period, especially a man like Arthur, wouldn't want to be found out as gay. Internalized homophobia was definietly rampant.
He genuinely doesn't seem to have malice in that tone- Bill only talks like that when he is either excited or happy or acting like a human being. And at this point in the game, Bill still respected Arthur, so I doubt he would want to step on his toes, especially in a way like that.
If I am not talking out of my ass, this could be such a great moment of character development for Bill- sympathy for another man supposedly like him in the world that they lived in. Fucking Bill having sympathy and empathy- who would've thought.
Or he could be mocking Arthur for being a rape victim because Bill is genuinely a piece of shit.
But on the off chance that he does not? What an interesting microcosm of LGBTQ+ dynamics in 1899 America.
In any case, FUCK SONNY AND DONT GET INVITED INTO HOUSES IN THE SWAMPS-
#rdr2#red dead redemption 2#arthur morgan#bill williamson#character analysis#story analysis#is this a reach?#idk#maybe I'm just projecting cuz of the culture i grew up in#but in any case#poor arthur man

FSR rambles 17 ways Dark can insult you
It's been aWHILE.
Not Green practically begging this man to stop abusing Dark Link.
Shadow being insanely bitter at Green's position as the "Leader" of the group isn't well hidden here. When Shadow was in charge of things, he has shown to be very...Abusive. Like there's not a lot of ways around that lmfao. He was seemingly way less abusive to the Hinox's than the rock monster but like, we barely saw them interact.
Green appealing to Dark's emotions by stating "Shadow's kinds scary" is hilarious to me. Throw the shade Green Shadow deserves it a little at this point.
Green's got the right idea that introductions this late is probably a very bad idea given EVERYTHING going on.
I personally just love Dark chewing on Green's fingers it's cute. It's the kind of thing a cat would do lmfao. Green doesn't seem to mind it since he lets him do it till the next panel lmfao.
"Vaati's such a prick!" Shadow says. As if Vaati chose to make the curse sentient...And it wasn't like. A mistake. Quite the assumption there pal.
Ya think it would have assumed a physical form 7 years ago when he was created if that was the case but ehhhh-
As soon as Green falls into his anxieties Dark laughs like a crazy person. Because this dude feeds on emotions and that power is rated E for everyone, he doesn't discriminate against good or bad emotions.
Yeah well for laughing like a loon Daddy Shadow's gonna abuse him some more. You're a terrible dad Shadow Link.
Poor Green is concerned about Dark's wellbeing.
The fucking face Green makes after Dark is yanked is based on this meme:
Because it's funny as hell to me.
Also Shadow wrongly assumes what Dark's powers are:
I mean it's TRUE that he does feed off negativity. But the same is true for positive emotions too. Dark Link actually outright admits to preferring them on a few occasions. Dark Link is bad at being a parasitic curse.
Shadow dramatically stuffing Dark back into his hat is one of my favorite panels of this sequence. It's so dramatic and silly.
CALL. HIM. OUT. SIS.
Shadow needs to know when he's being an ass.
Green will give credit when it's due but Shadow was AWFUL TO THEM.
Some stuff to note:
Green doesn't actually answer the question on if he forgives Shadow or not. Haaaah.
That sure won't be relevant later, but it's pretty heavily implied he hasn't fully forgiven Shadow but IS willing to make an effort to accept him anyway.
Green being a bro here is smth I liked writing.
Green's hard to characterized so I ended up taking him in a different but SIMILAR direction to his cannon manga counterpart.
Like...Green didn't have a lot of his own traits vs the OG Link. He mainly just existed to be the voice of reason. Which is fine. But giving him depression means he can be a bit more interesting in my eyes than just "Diet Link" XDDDD
Green reminding us that him and Link had full conversations with each other at various points.
Which is. Interesting. I can't remember how much I dived into the concept of that in fsr rambles. But that is weird.
It suggests a level of detachment Link has from the four of them to the point he is able to have his own opinions/thoughts/and is able to do actions completely dethatched from all four.
Link is destinctly his own entity compared to the four of them...If that's the case. Where did that consciousness GO.
Perhaps a question to look into at a later date.
For now Green's giving some good ol hugs and thoughts to his pal Shadow Link.
Hah I'm sure you were glad Shadow.
And this page makes me laugh like hell at the implications in the 2nd to past panel.
I'm flabbergasted yall didn't catch that on release of these pages.
Like.
C'mon now.
They're blushing and touching each other.
Next panel they're missing articles of clothes (Their tunics specifically.) and have distinctly embarrassed looks on their faces, Green is hiding his neck for some reason and Blue's dialogue eludes to a substantial amount of time passing.
They did smth sus off screen and yall just, missed that.
I'm very disapointed nobody caught that till I pointed it out. I thought I was being too obvious with that shit.
Green hasn't exactly been hiding the fact he's been very eager for physical contact is all I'm saying.
LMFAO. Okay funny thing:
Shadow didn't have a bed. Because: Why the fuck would you give a shadow a bed.
Shadow also couldn't FEEL things in his weird limbo shadow state. Because he has been IN Link's bed before. Just couldn't actually feel it being comfortable.
No wonder dude has been touch starved to hell.
Idk what it is about the second to last page but I like Green and Shadow interacting and Shadow being a happy little camper.
Even though he's a dick he deserves to be happy with his family. (Smth I dislike strongly is how that dude got relegated to being Link's damn shadow at the end of the manga like...Noooooooo)
Green's had time to think about the things necessary for them all to live together which is sweet.
Link didn't do this before to have less suspicion he was actually gonna draw the sword.
Adding rooms to the house when he lives alone would have been SO SUS.
Green's excited at the prospect of their new life. Even if it'll be hard.
I did an oopsie in this page and didn't color shadow's glove and I'm not fixing it lmfao. Pretend it's there, this is a free comic on the internet. 😭
Blue yeeting a pillow at Green is funny since this is the second time this night the dude has told Green to get some damn sleep.
Greeeen can't sleep though.
I get it pal. I'm an insomniac too. 😞
Vaati's back.
And he cut his hair.
Dark's a silly goofy guy and noticed that because he's a creep.
There's just a whole other level of rude here because like:
Dark it's cut already wtf is he meant to do? X'D
Visually: it's worth noting they're in the temple Shadow dragged vio to at the beginning of the story.
Vaati has seemingly made that place his new home.
Dark's bluntness in the first panel just gets a kick out of me. He really thinks Vaati is dumb as hell and it shows.
Just to make it more obvious:
Dark wasn't ever referring to Vaati with the term "Master" in reference to he himself being Vaati's worker. He was referencing it in terms of Vaati being his teacher.
Which is like rubbing salt in a giant stab wound considering Vaati's former Master Ezlo and him weren't on good terms.
A fun thing to note: After Dark asks up front what he SHOULD call Vaati. Vaati responds with "Get off my bed" and didn't verbally protest to just "Vaati".
You'll notice Dark calls Vaati just "Vaati" from here on out I believe exclusively.
Which is pretty funny to think about because if Vaati had pulled his head out of his ass for a second and just told Dark what he preferred to be called, Dark probably would have actually listened in this moment since it was a genuine question.
Dark Link is only an annoyance if you fall into his traps. or have a bloated as hell ego like Vaati.
Vaati holding Dark Link like a spider by the leg here is so damn funny to me while Dark just, openly shows he would start touching this man the second he got to close if given the opportunity.
He did kiss Vaati without warning a few chapters ago so, don't really blame Vaati for wanting to avoid that. X'D
This entire sequence is just funny to me. But what's new.
Dark's being an oversharing weirdo and Vaati can't handle affection.
Smth I'm sure yall have noticed: Dark's expressions started off as creepy and disturbing and now have evolved into being goofy as fuck.
Dark can't emote properly. So the idea his face is just, all kinds of messed up expression wise has just as much comedic value as creep value. It can either be uncanny or silly.
The more frequently Dark makes "Disturbing expressions" the audience will get numb to it. As Dark becomes a character the audience outwardly is meant to like, smth disturbing about him becoming smth funny is a way of shifting perspective on a lot of aspects of him.
Smth I particularly like about the last panel is how Vaati visually cannot see dark but just knows he's there. XD
The fun thing about this scene is how you could really see it from both their perspectives here.
Vaati is very cynical. He's been hurt a lot (His own fault but still) he doesn't trust people and feels very alone. He misses the one time he connected with someone (Link from Minish cap).
But he's hesitant to make connections due to his attempt at redemption falling flat.
And then There's Dark Link:
Dark Link, is delusional to a degree but also painfully aware of other things.
His delusion is that he's a hero. Vaati's specifically which is why he compared Vaati to Zelda when he spoke to Shadow Link.
Vaati is the one he's protecting and keeping safe, Vaati is someone he cares about deeply even if Vaati, in every way: Sucks majorly.
But unlike Minish cap Link he doesn't try to get Vaati to change who he is.
He likes Vaati for who he is. Even if he thinks he's literally the worst.
At the end of the day: Dark isn't protecting Vaati because he was MADE too. He protects him because he wants too. And that's smth Vaati takes majorly for granted which we'll see down the line...
Dark's offering him unconditional love and Vaati can't understand that shit. Dark's loyalty confuses and just kinda frustrates him.
Since it's not logical. It's purely emotional.
Oh so much to say.
It's so hard to put into words what I think about their dynamic and why I love them. They're very messy but on equal footing. Vaati could push Shadow around and disrespect him in FSR I took the route Shadow and Vaati have an abusive parent and child relationship. But with Dark, that shit just doesn't work on Dark (at least for now) because the man is delusional as hell.
He truly believes he is not only smarter than Vaati but that he is THE ONLY THING protecting him and in a lot of ways: That's outright true.
A LOT of Dark Link's delusions have roots in reality. (Shadow saying they were "Family" so he wrongly associates Shadow as his "father" the only family Link had for instance.)
Vaati has to be kinda stupid from a writing standpoint (Cannon manga or not) because he needs to be defeat-able. His flaws boil down to making stupid as hell choices because he's narcisistic to a fault.
He can't think of shit outside of purely benefiting himself which...In the long run fucks himself over.
Dark is the kind of person you cannot argue with. Because he's insane.
Dark's not afraid of death, or pain...So it leads you to wonder what his weakness is. (And oh boy I hope that pays off haha.)
You throw something at Dark, he will spit it right back in your face 10 fold and he will be MEAN about it. Dark will low blow you into oblivion because it works.
Dark's morals are ALL OVER THE PLACE because he simultaneously thinks he is a curse made to destroy people emotionally and also thinks he's a hero.
In this case, Vaati's ego is Dark's ego.
At this point: Dark hasn't failed. He's done exactly as he's been asked in a round about way/depending on how you look at it.
I ain't even gonna pretend this scene wasn't meant to be sus.
Dark's very "Words are important" kind of guy for someone who sucks at communication haha.
Smth to note dialogue wise:
Dark's insult in the 2nd to last panel was him calling Vaati a baby effectively lmfao.
Since Picori are like mice/rats him calling Vaati a "Pup" was meant to insinuate Vaati is acting an infant Picori which just adds to the insult imo. Like instead of JUST calling Vaati a child he used language that was more suited to Vaati's upbringing.
That just cracks me up.
He went the extra mile to effectivly say "you're a poopy diaper baby huh?"
The last panel is just such: You have to get the last word huh? moment for Dark hahaha. X'D
1st panel:
Dark insinuates he is something OTHER than a curse which is odd. Though you can assume he just means he's a hero. But then again: Why does he think he's a hero exactly.
And the further conversation leads to a very odd revelation.
Vaati, by being in the four sword connected to Link, was cursed.
Which explains why Dark Link can see his memories when Vaati earlier in the comic referenced that he SHOULDN'T.
Woops.
This also explains why it works on Shadow Link. Because Shadow was magically attached to Link at the time of being cursed, Dark affects the three who were influenced by the sword and it's wielder at the time.
Dark's dialogue is further confusing/has weird implications when he asks Vaati:
"Perhaps you forgot what you WANTED, and where you WERE when you created me?"
Dark on multiple occasions has outright referenced the idea he was made to protect Vaati.
Which is weird if you think about it.
Dark wasn't made to just hurt people, but to protect something. Specifically VAATI, but this behavioral aspect makes a lot of sense when you consider he was created for.
Smth a bit morbid:
Dark Link outright states here he believes Link/his colors will kill him. And doesn't seem to care in the slightest.
Well Dark seems fine with his mortality as long as he gets to use it to protect Vaati.
2nd panel insult had me rolling it's so mean and out of pocket but what's new for Dark.
He brushes off Vaati's threats of curse breaking because: Well he's right about Vaati needing him at least for now.
We end on a very goofy note of Dark begging for more kisses if he does a good job. Which shows dude has optimism pouring out of his ass rn.

Another important example of LO's enbyphobia (and arguably the most obvious one if I'm not mistaken) is when in the su video she literally complained about Stevonnie being Nonbinary, called it a lazy choice and very strongly implied, if not outright stated, that they should have been trans because they're on the femmine side of gender presentation (debatable tbh, the only "feminine" thing about them is having long hair and wearing shorts and a pink crop top, which are all thing we should stop gendering) and because Steven sung giant woman. Ignoring that Steven wasn't talking about himself in that song but was trying to encourage Pearl and Amethyst to fuse... Look, I'm not saying an arc about Steven realizing to be a trans girl wouldn't have been amazing, but come on. How anyone in the comments thought that she was supportive of Nonbinary people is beyond me. (1/3)
(2/3) unrelated to the enbyphobia is that she also claimed Stevonnie was heavily sexualized. They're not. LO, just because you emediatelly sexualize female and female presenting characters doesn't mean everyone else does. If you see any shot of them as sexualized that's on you really.
i need to remark the last part of your first comment anon because: 1. the comments are highly moderated so any dissenting voice that LO couldn't think of a good enough dunk on was purged. multiple people have spoken about how their own critique of the video, no matter how respectful and polite they were, were deleted no long after. try to argue with LO on a space where she has total control it's a waste of time. 2. the author of the essay that LO basically plagiarizes for the racism portion of the video actually left a comment long when the video came out about how enbyphobic LO came out and they didn't agreed with her approach overall. i think their words was something like "just say that you hate non binary people and go". you know what's interesting? i tried to search that comment to show it here and i couldn't find it anywhere. she deleted the words of a black non binary person, whose essay she plagiaraized word for word, just so no one would even think to suggest that she could be wrong. as a side note, the crediting to Robobuddies's video, that LO also plagiarized, was erased from the description. so LO now has profitted from the hard work that someone else made, called them a loser when they had a problem with that and then erased the credit so now no one will even know that LO's stole their words. only the link to Riley's essay remain. finally LO did aknowledged that some of the language that she used herself on the video was racist... 4 years after the video was already out.
2 weeks ago LO suddenly thought to adress her racist language on a video that was meant to call out the racism of someone else. she could have done that in 4 years but instead she prefered to keep being antisemitic towards a non binary jewish woman who doesn't even know she exist. if that isn't sad and funny... 3. the portion that i found the most grotesque about her portion about non binary people is how LO basically said that "non binary people are inherently interesting" and how stevonnie's design was boring because they didn't had multiple arms or something. that string of word has been stuck on my head ever since i heard it because it couldn't believe someone would say that... on the same breath where they complain about how there are not more human non binary characters. stevonnie is literally more human than any other fusion, that's the point of their design being "normal", because some non binary people look exactly like stevonnie and they deserved representation too. you can be safe knowing that part was entirely from LO's point of view and she didn't steal it from anyone because of how borderline fetishistic and misguided it was.

dancing with old friends
OKAY, third time's the charm with trying to post this! maybe tumblr's trying to tell me something-
ship: darkstache/damien x wilford (if not outright shown it's heavily implied. also obviously there's wilford x celine, but that's just canon so-)
notes: i originally wrote... a lot for this- i've now tried to post this twice before, so i'm not writing that all again. just be aware that this oneshot is a few years old and so it probably isn't good. i mean i think it's pretty alright, but maybe my taste is shit lol
don't expect me to write other oneshots after posting this, i haven't written stories since i wrote this, so they'd probably all be shit-
The Manor held several rooms that were unknown to many of the egos that lived there; each of them locked away for... reasons. They held old memories that did not want to be resurfaced. And no one questioned it. After all, the request of them never being opened came from both Wilford Warfstache & Darkiplier. Although it was more of an order than a request with Dark, who had pretty much threatened Yandere when he asked why.
There was one room in particular that was locked up. It was a gorgeous ballroom, one that looked like it had come out of a fairy tale. Many dances used to be held there back in the day with various friends. It was once filled with laughter & joy; now it only contained dust & cobwebs.
For whatever reason, Wilford had decided to open the room again. No one else was around to question why. He honestly didn't know himself. He had just been wandering around the manor when he came across the old oak doors. Both him & Dark held a skeleton key that could open any in the house, which The Host was gracious enough to make.
Wiford took his out from under his shirt; he had hung it on a piece of string so he would always have it with him. He took it off from around his neck, inserted it into the lock, & turned the key. A clicking sound echoed slightly down both ends of the hall. The interviewer glanced around to make sure no one else was around before entering the room.
It wasn't as grand as he remembered, but perhaps that was just because everything was covered in dust. There were windows across the opposite wall, which each had red silk curtains draped over them, blocking out any sunlight that could enter. Around the room were white marble columns connecting the ceiling to the floor. Off to the side was a piano, which clearly had not been used in forever.
Wilford walked across the floor, hearing his footsteps echo in the quiet room. Truly Mark, his old friend, had decided to splurge with this room, seeing as it was more castle like than the other rooms. And of course he always insisted his guests move to this room so they could dance at least once during the party.
The interviewer remembered many dances he shared with Celine. The lady could definitely dance, he knew that. Those were truly wonderful nights they shared together.
He hadn't noticed he was starting to cry until he felt a teardrop fall down his cheek. He quickly wiped the tears away & shook the memories from his head. No need for troubling himself with the past like that. Those were happy times. That's all they were. Happy times...
"So, you've finally decided to enter here." Wilford turned around to see the body behind the voice. Dark was standing a few feet away. How he got in so quietly wasn't that big of a concern; Dark always had a flair for mystery.
"Just wanted to relive some old memories, I guess." Wilford chuckled. The demon across from him hummed in response, conveying no emotion. While yes Dark had the memories of both Celine & Damien in him, he never bothered with being so sentimental about them, his focus always landing on taking control of the YouTube channel he was practically adored on.
"If I recall correctly, you & Celine shared many dances in this room." Dark walked closer to the other man.
Wilford nodded his head in response. "Yes, we did. I remember how much fun we had, being the most lively dancers in the whole room. Everyone would clear the floor just to watch us." He chuckled & gave a sad smile. These were memories he had not touched in a long time, & while it was nice to revisit them, it brought a pain in his heart to think of his lost love. And yet he knew, in some crazy & messed up way, she was right next to him, along with his best friend Damien, all wrapped together with some strange... entity in one of his old friend's body.
They were both silent for a bit, just basking in the feeling of being in a room they had both sworn they would never open. And neither man knew why they were even in there.
After some time Wilford saw Dark offer his hand from the corner of his eye. He gave the demon a confused look, questioning what he was suggesting. Dark merely scoffed but kept his hand where it was.
"Dance with me."
The interviewer was a bit taken back by what Dark had asked. He was always extremely reserved, keeping to himself with his emotions in every way possible. He never talked with anyone else, unless it was about something that person was doing. Even Wilford, whom he considered a close colleague, barely knew anything about what went on inside that mind of his. And yet here he was, asking Wilford to dance.
Of course he didn't refuse. Once he fully processed the situation, which took mere seconds to be processed, he took Dark's hand & let himself be led to the middle of the dance floor. This was going to be strange for him; he was always the one to lead the dance, but the demon automatically assumed the lead position & placed a hand on the other man's waist, Wilford placing his free hand on Dark's shoulder. A smirk flashed onto Dark's face, but the interviewer did not know why. That is, until he noticed his cheeks felt a bit hotter than usual, indicating he was blushing. He tried to push it away, but to no avail.
"I do believe that to dance you need music along with it." Wilford suggested a bit quietly. If he had to admit it he did feel a bit nervous about doing this. He didn't know if he would trip up, or if Dark would trip up, or if something happened that would cause this to become a wreck.
"Don't worry, I'll be sure to guide you completely, since it seems you can't dance without the aid of something else." Dark chuckled, causing Wilford to merely roll his eyes at the joke.
"Don't worry, I'll be sure to guide you completely, since it seems you can't dance without the aid of something else." Dark chuckled, causing Wilford to merely roll his eyes at the joke.
"Then let us dance, my friend." With that Dark started to slowly spin with Wilford, stepping in time to invisible music. It was definitely strange, being lead around the room instead of himself leading, & the demon was a bit slower than he was used to, but the interviewer eventually got the rhythm of the dance & stepped in perfect time. After a few moments Wilford started to notice the blue shadow behind Dark glow brighter, almost drowning out the red shadow. Wilford smiled at this, something Dark didn't see with his eyes closed.
'Hello, old friend.' Wilford thought to himself. Dark smiled, a genuine smile, & opened his eyes, which were now a dark brown instead of their usual black & red.
"Hello, William. It's been a while, hasn't it?" William let out a soft chuckle.
"Yes it has. Far too long in my opinion, old friend." Damien gave a small smile, one that held both joy at seeing his friend, & sadness at how they departed, & their current situation. One was trapped in an old friend's body with a demon & a vengeful spirit, the other had slowly but surely lost his mind. This was not how the two men thought they would end up.
The both of them continued to spin in a small circle, William's head resting against Damien's chest. Neither cared if this seemed strange. Or, perhaps, even scandalous. They just needed to feel the comforting warmth of a friend. And it seemed a dance had been needed as well.

A few months into their relationship saw Lisa Snart at a birthday party of a relative of Cisco's. And her man had been proven right when he made the remark that the Ramon family tended to go all out for birthdays of any family member. Though he had lowly muttered about how he seemed to be the exception to that and she couldn't help but frown over that to be honest. Any attempts to get him to talk about it hadn't really worked and in the end she let it go out of respect for him. Shortly into the party, things had been a little awkward when Dante ran into them and the man hadn't been too happy with her there. But Cisco had a quiet word with him and the brother left things be after that. Something Lisa was happy about as she didn't want to be the cause of any problems during a birthday party of all things. Eventually, she even met her man's parents and quickly found herself less than impressed with the two.
Mr. Ramon acted like he had a stick up his ass while criticizing his son for supposedly wasting his time with science and engineering. Mrs. Ramon wasn't much better and had even looked down on her like she was some insignificant thing and had even voiced that her son could do so much better. She even suggested they should get together soon and she could introduce him to a few girls she knew that she felt would be perfect for him. Well, just so long as he didn't act like himself and it was implied the woman felt that was just embarrassing. A look in Dante's direction and Lisa could tell he wasn't too happy with how his parents were treating his brother either. Hell she certainly wasn't too happy either and was just about ready to cut loose on the two jerks.
"Yes, listen to your mother Francisco and find a field of work that is respectable like my own."
"God, do you two even hear yourselves right now? Its absolutely disgusting." Sneered Lisa heatedly towards the two.
Her man's parents looked towards her with unhappy looks on their faces. "Excuse me? I'm not quite sure I heard that correctly." Replied Mrs. Ramon and it was almost like she was challenging the girl to repeat what she said.
Which for Lisa Snart? That so wasn't a problem at all for her. She raised an eyebrow at them and Cisco hoped this wouldn't get ugly at all. Dante on the other hand was looking very forward to seeing what happened next. "Oh you heard me correctly. How Cisco even turned out to be the good man I know him to be as is beyond me with how you two are towards him."
Mrs. Ramon gasped dramatically as she felt like she'd been heavily insulted by this girl her son had dared to bring to this happy occasion. Her husband was about to say something but she beat him to the punch. "Now you listen here little girl! You are a guest in this home and as such are to treat us with respect! Is that understood!?" Demanded the woman as she got right into Lisa's face and Cisco gulped.
The lovely Snart gave the woman an unimpressed look. "Yeah, you getting all up in my face like I should be worried about you? Not happening lady. I am tired of seeing you and Mr. Stick-Up-His-Ass treating MY boyfriend like s**t. I don't know why you two do it but it needs to stop. NOW."
A nasty retort was about to fired off from Cisco's mother but Lisa beat her to the punch. "Do you have ANY idea of the things he's done for this city? He made the Flash his suit, he's helped the Police in all kinds of ways with Meta-Human defenses, he's even made all kinds of things for the city to use to make everyday life a bit easier for a lot of people. And you two act like that's nothing at all cause its not what you want from him!? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW SCREWED UP THAT IS!?"
God and she thought her father was an outright bastard that was unmatched by anyone else but these two definitely made her think otherwise! They were gathering quite a lot of attention now at that point and many were murmuring to themselves over the events that were coming into play at that moment. Quite a few in the family never agreed with how Francisco was treated by his parents as it made no sense to them at all and tried to offer him support when needed. Something that had made the engineer honestly grateful at times. Cisco was looking wide eyed at his girlfriend for how far she'd just gone in defending him where his parents were concerned. As for Dante? His opinion of the Snart had definitely just changed into something that was of a far better opinion when it came to her.
Lisa got as close to the woman's face as possible with a furious expression on her face. "You and your husband don't deserve to call yourselves his parents." Hissed the woman and Mrs. Ramon stepped backwards with a very unhappy expression on her face.
It definitely didn't help that she was quickly realizing the girl may have a point. Mr. Ramon on the other hand had had just about enough of this girl and her words. "Now see here-" Began the man as he walked towards her with a finger pointed in her direction but was cut off when she soundly punched the ever loving crap out of him.
Sending the jerk to the floor instantly and making his wife go to his side quickly. The man looked up at her with rage in his eyes as he rubbed his aching jaw. "Get out! You are not welcome in my home any longer!"
Lisa shrugged at that as she didn't quite give a damn. "Fine by me, its too damn stuffy in here anyway with your bulls**t."
She made her way out with Cisco following along quickly and having every intention of kissing his girlfriend like crazy after what she'd just done, ignoring the calls of his father to bring his ass back to him that instantly. Dante was also quick to follow and soon the rest of the family walked out too as they had no desire to be around such close minded figures. The older man spat on the floor and pushed his wife away from him as he stood up. "Hmmph, leave then for all I care. Francisco is worthless anyway." Snarled the man before walking away and leaving a contemplative wife and mother behind…
Oh Miho… How badly have we wronged you? She would have no clue of how much that thought would keep her up at night for quite sometime afterwards.

Many characters talk about reincarnation (Tingle, Beedle, etc). The games are heavily influenced by Japanese Buddhism, where the idea that all mortals reincarnate is common in certain schools of thought.
The Hero's Shade could easily be a tulpa, and so could the voice of Hylia in the statues. Hylia becoming a Goddess again after sacrificing her godhood renders her sacrifice meaningless, and Demise doesn't control the concept of reincarnation. It's also never stated that Hylia exists in the present, even in Creating a Champion, but in SkSw she leaves messages behind from her "edge of time" and has given the Sheikah monks her future sight. It's not really a stretch to say she might not be around except as Zelda.
The "Spirit of the Hero and blood of the Goddess" line is simply saying that when the people with those identifying features appear, an embodiment of his hatred will too. He wasn't saying they will or won't reincarnate, but it's implied they do, and it's outright stated in certain translations of BotW.
Also Ganondorf explicitly says Link is the reincarnation of the Hero of Time in WW and emphasis is placed on Tetra being THE Princess Zelda despite that not being her name and the naming law not existing in that timeline.
me: “it’s okay if people are wrong about things, people are allowed to be wrong about things, it’s not a big deal.”
someone: [refers to any Link other than the one in Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask as the Hero of Time and/or refers to any Zelda other than the one in Skyward Sword as Hylia’s reincarnation]
me: “I am going to gnaw through their arm like a beaver would a tree”
#tloz stuff#people aren't 'incorrect' when they have different interpretations of the game's lore#especially when those interpretations are supported by the games and supplementary materials#Zelda games are very vague on how metaphysics work

1) Sorry if I came off as rude or attacking you, that wasn't my intention, but I just think that calling shinoyama 'queerbating' is simply not correct. Yamagi's feelings for Shino were hinted at as soon as in ep 4 of s1, when he outright asked if Shino liked girls - girls specifically (why would he be interested in Shino's orientation if he wasn't intersted in him personally in the romantic sense?), then were made clear in ep. 7 with the heart grab scene and then further reinforced later on, by
2) showing Yamagi's evident disdain/jealousy every time Shino mentions girls etc. It was very obvious from the beginning that Yamagi is gay for Shino, so the only question left was whether Shino would ever find about Yamagi's feelings and reciprocate, to which episodes 45/46 gave us an answer. The 'let's drink till morning, the two of us' WAS, in fact, Shino's explicitly asking Yamagi out romantically. It just couldn't have been anything else in that context, when we know for a fact that Shino
3) does consider going out for drinks, two people only, as romantic (again, the AkiLafter scene in ep. 41, and Shino's 'don't you know what that is? go with her alone'). And then there's Yamagi's reaction - the wide eyes and the 'quit joking around, you don't even know how I feel' (plus his confusion about 'how Shino felt' later on when he talks to Eugene) which made it clear that's exactly the way it felt to Yamagi as well - as a date invitation, except he couldn't know back then that Shino was
4) serious. But Shino WAS serious - the fact that he grabbed Yamagi's hair out of his face to look him straight in the eyes before asking him out was a clear indicator of how serious he was. He wouldn't have given Yamagi false hopes otherwise, while being perfectly aware of Yamagi's feelings for him. And it's not only that, the entirety of Shino's body language towards Yamagi in all their scenes together in ep 45, his fond expressions, the looks and the smiles that we'd never seen on him
5) before that, the gentle tone of his voice, him calling Yamagi scary with evident fondness (it's actually a common motive in anime, to reveal that a manly man may not be afraid of enemies, war etc. but he's always afraid of his spouse), everything about those scenes screamed that Shino knew about Yamagi's feelings even before the big reveal and was totally on board with them. Ep 46 basically confirmed what was already obvious, that in the end, they both had romantic feelings for each other
6) and had Shino not died, they'd have ended up together eventually. They're basically as canon as an IBO couple can get and their not getting a happy ending doesn't make them any less canon (technically there's still a chance Shino could turn out to be alive, as they literally went out of their way to not show us his body). As for the other potentially queerbaiting couples, I don't think that orumika, gaeein or makugae are meant to be interpreted as romantic (even though I ship all three).
7) As for Aston/Takaki, in their case I do interpret them as romantic without a shred of doubt in my mind; after all, there was a canon blushing and Aston promising to protect Takaki and his happiness was a clear-cut romantic trope, and they just seem like your typical Gundam couple, but I guess it was probably too early to establish that explicitly in canon, as Aston was most likely not ready yet to realize what his feelings for Takaki really were. Anyway, they fit into the pattern of s2's
8) policy of killing romantic couples off (followed by Naze/Amida, akilafter and shinoyama, and maybe Mika/Atra/Kudelia in the nearest future). But that's just Gundam for you, to destroy a love before it has a chance to bloom. It doesn't really qualify as queerbaiting to me, as they do this to hetero couples just as much. As for Gundam 00, I don't think that anything has been confirmed when it comes to characters' sexualities and such, but it was easy to figure out from the context. I've seen
9) a post in the general tags listing all the characters considered to be LGBTQA, so, from the top of my head - most of the named innovades are gender-neutral, from what I've gathered, with the exeption of Anew and Ribbons, I guess? The situation with Tieria is more tricky than that, though, as it's been made clear in the show that he identifies as a man, and that's how basically everyone sees and treats him; it's been also said a few times in the show that only men can be Gundam pilots and
10) I think it's about the physical build rather than how someone identifies (thus the theory about Nena Trinity being, in fact , an actual trans-girls; I've read it once on tumblr and it made a lot of sense within the story, but I can't find the post anyomre; I guess the blog has been deactivated), but then the official materias list Tieria as gender-neutral too, so it's really hard to tell, especially given the fact that Tieria has the means to produce spare bodies for himself and probably
11) decide their gender as well? So yeah, the whole situatuon with Tieria is as unclear as it can be, but one thing clear is that he identifies as a man in canon and is canonically in love with another man (Neil) even if he can't classify those feelings yet (as his letter to Lockon would suggest). I think it's safe to say that Lockon is bi; he says something about being nice to women in the show once and he clearly feels something special for Tiera (that even Feldt has noticed) and calls him
12) cute etc. I think it's safe to say Lyle is bi as well, as he literally hits on Tieria in the beginning (only to be immediately shot down, because there's already one Lockon in Tieria's heart). Setsuna is pretty much considered to be asexual (but not necessarily as aromantic, as he clearly feels something for Feldt in the movie). Alejandro Corner is gay; he's explicitly shown to be sleeping with Ribbons in the Special Edition compilation movies. There could be more, but it's hard to remember
13) everything on the spot (I should try to look fot that masterpost in the tags; hope it's still there). As for other Gundam gay couples I personally consider canon, there's Trowa/Quatre from Gundam Wing and Dearka/Yzak from Gundam Seed. Oh God, this turned out so damn long and now I'm feeling bad for bothering you and making you read all this, but those Gundam discussions are always so compelling (hope tumblr doesn't eat any of the messages; I had them saved just in case though).
Don’t worry about it; I’m always happy to discuss Gundam! Admittedly, I don’t get as heavily into Gundam as I’d like to; 00 is my favorite series, but I’ve only seen the main 50 episodes, not the movie(s). As for other Gundam series, I’ve only watched the original, Unicorn, about 1/4 of Wing, a tiny bit of Age and Reco, IBO, BF, BFT, and F91 (IBO and 00 being my favorites of what I’ve watched). I’m going to try and address every point in this, feel free to shoot another message if I miss anything important!
Admittedly, in the beginning I didn’t pay attention to IBO while I was watching. I tend to have a one-track mind when it comes to anime I like, and when I’m obsessed with one, I usually can’t bring myself to care about another, so I didn’t pick up a lot of things.
ShinoYama is, in my opinion, the least queerbaity ship in the entire Gundam franchise; I’d go as far as to say it’s completely canon, and honestly, I feel like it’s the closest we’ve gotten to a gay ship being treated exactly the same as a het ship. Yamagi obviously had romantic feelings for Shino, and Shino didn’t seem to consider it out of the question. Had he survived, I actually think they might have gone canon. Sorry if it came across as me dismissing ShinoYama as queerbaiting; I think they’re the closest we’ll ever get to representation!
It could be me caving to heteronormativity, but I feel like AkiLafter was made more explicit than ShinoYama in the “he’s being asked out on a date” department. It was handled similarly, but I still get a different vibe from it. I could be wrong, though!
Body language and wording are always a part of ships in series like this. And I feel like they were all leaning towards romantic in ShinoYama; they were heavily implied to like each other romantically. But again, it’s always just implied. None of the explicit kissing and “I love you”s that you get with things like Lyle/Anew and Naze/Amida.
I abandoned MakuGae pretty early on once Ein was introduced, so I don’t know a lot about what hints may have been dropped. And Ein and Gaelio weren’t around each other long enough for anything to be solidified. Orga and Mika, however, I feel are at least slightly indicated to have feelings for each other; it may be completely platonic, but there is such a strong emphasis on all the times that they hold hands, if one of them had been female it would have automatically been considered to be canon, even with the MikaKuuAto situation going on; which I could talk about for a long time, but in short, it’s pretty much canon, though with the KuuAto being a bit more subtle than MikaKuu or MikaAto (I am acutely aware of how Kuudelia said she loves Atra, though; that’s not something I can overlook, I’m just comparing it to the explicit MikaKuu kiss and Atra’s request to “have babies with” Mikazuki). MikaKuuAto is an entirely different subject that I’ll save for another post.
Aston and Takaki were very much hinted to be romantic. All the tropes were there, all that was missing was explicit confirmation; and there’s not a doubt in my mind that we would have gotten that had they been a straight couple. My issue with all of this, if you can call it that, is that the het ships are always made more explicit than the gay ones, however “canon” the gay ones may be. The only problem in my mind is that so many het couples have been made concretely canon, while the only gay one we’ve gotten is ShinoYama. And though there’s an equal amount of killing off between them, you’re still left with more living het couples than gay ones. Equal killing of love interests is like the difference between equality and equity; if you take an equal amount from someone with everything and someone with almost nothing, that’s technically “equal”, but the person with less inherently loses so much more than the person with everything.
I admit it’s been a while since I’ve watched 00, so I don’t remember much about it. Nena being trans isn’t something I ever picked up on, so it could have been made more clear. I definitely headcanon most of the Innovades as some form of nonbinary, but I always based “canon” for that around what pronouns are used for the characters; and in all of their cases, it was always he/him or she/her. With Tieria, it was mostly a headcanon spawned from the episode where he crossdressed to infiltrate that party, and how easily the female form and voice came to him; hell, on Wikipedia’s “List of transgender characters in media”, Tieria is listed there. Later in Season 2, though, he’s portrayed as being a cis male, so that somewhat threw my headcanon of him being a trans boy out of the window. I also heavily headcanon Regene and Revive as trans boys, though solely because of their voices. Really, though, the pairs like Regene and Tieria or Anew and Revive; they’ve been stated to share the exact same genes, so in same-gender pairings, neither or both of them are trans, and in different-gender pairings, one of them has to be trans.
I do think it’s implied that Tieria loved Neil, but again, it was never made as painfully explicit as things like Chris and Lichty, Anew and Lyle, Naze and Amida, etc etc. Tieria obviously cared a lot for Neil, and never really got over his death; but I still feel that it was never made as clear as those other ships whether the feelings were platonic or romantic.
As I never saw the movies, I didn’t know about the thing with Alejandro and Ribbons; if that’s a thing that happened, then I definitely have to see the movies. And though I never fully watched Wing, I did pick up on something between Trowa and Quatre, but still; Never hinted at as much as Heero and Relena.
Wow, my response ended up almost as long as your questions. You don’t have to worry about bothering me; I very much enjoy talking about Gundam! If I missed any points you made, don’t be afraid to send me another message~

Looking at Springing Forth from Alola and it definitely sounds like it's potentially coming from Kukui's experience in Kanto but it also starts to mesh a little with his history with Guzma depending on how you view the second half of it.
"I became an island challenge champion and wanted to show my vaunted skills in a far-off region."
Kukui is canonically an Island Challenge Champion and he also outright states that he went to Kanto and ended up battling the Gyms and League.
Alola is established to be on the exact opposite side of the world to Kanto almost immediately as well.
"But those city Trainers were strong..."
When Kukui mentions Kanto, he never confirms if he managed to defeat Lance or not and leaves it to the player to assume if he did or didn't.
Kukui is also an extremely competitive and rather prideful character at times (Masked Royal.) and likely thought that he'd be able to breeze through Kanto under the assumption that it would be like his Island Trials then realised that he wasn't as strong as he had thought himself to be.
Now for where things start to blur into his history with Guzma a little.
"If I had just passed the time peacefully, I wouldn't have had to suffer so much, I say, cursing myself"
If we assume it's referring to Kanto then Kukui regretted his rashness and cursed his pride when the Kanto battles started to ramp up in difficulty for him due to him trying to brute force his way through them.
But
If we assume it's referring to Guzma then, like in the anime, Kukui regrets how he treated Guzma and blames himself for what happened between them.
In the Games' canon it's most likely due to Guzma failing to become a Captain causing him to hate himself more and his father's negative response to any and all failures being followed by Kukui choosing to throw away his chance to be a Trial Captain to pursue other goals.
In the Anime's canon it's VERY heavily implied that Guzma grew bitter after constantly being defeated by Kukui when battling against each other and then eventually turned into him voicing his anger and vowing to get strong without the use of Z-Moves as well as swiping at Kukui's hand when he reached out in an attempt to offer comfort and ran off leaving Kukui behind.
Kukui later regrets not talking to Guzma more in the past which makes it clear that back then he wasn't thinking about how Guzma potentially felt after trying his best but always falling short whenever they battled.
"But I want to leave my claw marks on the world today, too"
Pretty self-explanatory but also a display of Kukui's desire for big things not being stomped out by his failures and regrets.
He didn't let his struggles in Kanto bring him down for too long nor did he let his guilt about Guzma take over to the point where he lost his spark.
"I'll be pushed by my partner to exact revenge for yesterday."
Could be referring to his Lycanroc as his partner Pokémon and the beginning of his dreams of a League but it also could explain why Kukui went back to Malie Gardens before Sophocles' Trial.
Kukui could've gone straight to Lanakila at that point but he chose to go back to Malie Gardens and ended up encountering not only a pair of Team Skull Grunts but also Guzma himself.
Enacting revenge on yesterday would be him trying to repair things with Guzma which he ends up failing to do so due to Guzma knowing how to get under his skin.
Fully aware that I was probably looking WAAAAY too far into how the book could also work with Kukui's broken friendship with Guzma but I started typing this at like 4:20am and upon finishing this it is 5:30am. I've been awake for 20 hours and I crave literally ANY goddamn semblance of an idea of what happened between them in the Games.
So I'm in malie library, and read a book called springing from Alola. It details the author stating how they became an island champion and wanted to to show off their skill in a far away region, but said regions trainers were too much. The author chastises themself for not spending their time peacefully, rushing to the next big thing so it seems, but then remarks how they wanted to leave their mark on the world. The page ends with the author says that their partner pushes them forward, acting "to exact revenge for yesterday", springing from Alola.
I'm going to assume that Kukui wrote this and if he did, then he kinda sounded like Guzma in this. Wanting to make a mark on the world, taking "revenge" for the past etc. Kukui seems like he moved past this, but he still pushed forward in making Alola a pokemon league. He still wants to make a mark on the world, as does Guzma. Is it that Kukui's ambitions were more acceptable than Guzma's? That he "went the right path" and that's what makes his very hefty goal more acceptable?
I really wish the games went more into the history of Kukui and Guzma, let alone the parallels of the two. From memory, it's literally the one scene where Guzma calls Kukui out as a fellow reject that the comparisons really lie. Guzma clearly is angry with Kukui, but I don't know the exact reason other than the two of them failing to be trail captains. I'm probably missing something here so please tell me anything if I am.
